INOV8 IN ACTION

FLORA RIDGE FARM MOUNT AIRY, NC
Flora Ridge Farm Mount Airy, NC
"I bought my Inov8 F240 waste oil heater about four years ago. I originally thought it would be a supplement source of heat for my hydroponic lettuce greenhouse. As it turns out over the past four years it has represented 75% of my heat! I still have a propane backup heater just in case and it gets used on really cold days, but those times when you need light or moderate heat the Inov8 machine handles the load! Grant it there are times when it breaks down but 9 times out of 10 it’s something I overlooked. Even though the people at Inov8 send a manual which is most helpful sometimes you just need for someone to talk you through and their service techs are there for you. The best part is the savings. It’s hard enough being a farmer and believe me I try to cut my expenses as much as possible. My current propane rates are about $2.25 a gallon. I ordinarily would use 3 to 4 thousand gallons a year. Do the math."

"We installed a Buderus in March 07, and it has been heating a 6000 sq/ft, 3-story house all radiant heat. The boiler has been very efficient. We have burnt over 2000 Gallons of oil since it first fired.

The Viessman is a very nice and efficient boiler. It runs good and smooth. We installed this 300K BTU at the end of January. It burns clean and very steady, and has very easy access by the front door to the entire interior. We are heating a 6000 sq/ft garage, radiant, with a big demand on water heating and oil heating for making Bio-diesel. We are also burning Glycerin in the boiler at the rate of around 15%. So far, so good.

D-n-P SITEWORK & SERVICES LLP D-n-P will be happy to help set up and service any restaurant or business interested in heating with these boilers in the New Hampshire area. "

GAMBLE FARMS JUNCTION CITY, OREGON
Gamble Farms Junction City, Oregon
" I purchased seven Inov8 F240sc furnaces for the chicken ranch back in March in 2005. Each of the burners have a little over seven thousand hours of use on them, which equals approximately 108,000 gallons of waste oil. This past year I purchased 23,568 gallons of waste oil at $.95 a gallon. Compared to fuel oil, my savings for that purchase was more than $57,000.00. My furnaces have paid for themselves over eight times each.

Thanks in part to my Inov8 furnaces, I'm able to continue to farm 'the old fashioned way'. These furnaces help me to keep my prices competetive with some of the largest, most modern farms in the area."

SOUTHEAST INDUSTRIAL SERVICES
Pulver Radiant Heating, Kenasaw, NE

"The shop is 60 X 100 all steel. We started this job as all jobs- with a complete computerized heat loss analysis and system design. We insulated the entire underslab and laid the tubing out in 3 separate areas to fit the three separate concrete pours. Insulated buried supply and return tubes supply the other two sections.

The customer built the exhaust flue themselves. They used new single wall exhaust pipe made for semi-trucks. It's a straight shot up except for about a 15 degree bend to miss a steel structure in the mezzanine deck above. The photo shows they also added a "heat reclaiming fan" in the flue, and no draft inducer. SOUTHEAST INDUSTRIAL SERVICES It appears to be working great so far. Absolutely NO smoke, and draws well. Having a straight, tall, flue in heated space definitely works in their favor.

The customer also has a waste-oil furnace so they have some exprience handling the oil already, and wanted to do all the oil supply themselves on this job. The rectangular black tank you see is two separate chambers. It's a modified behind-the-cab, aftermarket fuel tank, out of a pickup. The grate on top is where they drain oil pans, filters, etc. into a small holding area which gets pumped outside into a 1000 gallon anhydrous ammonia tank. The 1000 gallon tank in turn gravity flows back inside keeping the second chamber full where it can settle and warm. They have a tall vent on the LH side of tank to get above the height of outside tank on wheels. Their is a ball valve drain on RH side to dump settled out water etc.

SOUTHEAST INDUSTRIAL SERVICES

The boiler is piped in black steel for a more "industrial look", though most of my jobs I pipe in copper. I used a Tekmar built Uponor Wirsbo mixing control to offer boiler protection from low return temps as well as providing full outdoor reset capability. The outdoor reset adjusts the floor supply water temp continuously according to outdoor conditions. All this is done with a Variable Speed Injection Mixing circulator and two strap on sensors wired into the Tekmar. This maximizes efficiency, comfort, and longevity of the boiler and system. Besides the factory operating control aquastat, I also equipped the Buderus/INOV8 with Low Water Cut Off, Manual Reset High Limit, and Flow Switch to insure the safety of both boiler and occupants. The system is filled with De-Ionized water and 30% inhibiited propylene glycol solution for burst protection."

"We completed the installation of our INOV8 furnace in February of 2007, and are utilizing (for fuel) primarily crankcase oil, hydraulic oils and some #2 diesel oil, etc. that is generated in our heavy truck and industrial equipment repair business. Our goals in using the waste oil burners were to concurrently reduce and/or eliminate heating oil expense, and to mitigate expense in the disposal of those items that were good candidates for use as fuel. This has, so far, proven to have been a good decision. I'm certain that, as our volume of waste oil production increases, we will look to outfit our other two buildings with INOV8 units."

TWIN BROOK WINERY
Twin Brook Winery
"Twin Brook Winery in Gap, PA bought an INOV8 burner in 2005. We are burning used vegetable oil and shortening collected from restaurants which can be rather awful looking stuff. We rack it a couple of times, give it one filtration then send it to the burner. We are heating a 7550 sq. ft. greenhouse which serves as a banquet hall. For pictures see www.twinbrookwinery.com. Burning fuel oil, we were spending between $10,000 and $15,000 per year, just to keep this place at 55 degrees. When we have events, we take it up to 70 degrees. We saved more than the burner and stove cost in one year. There is work involved, but no more than cutting wood, and this burner burns clean, there is no smoke whatsoever. Now we are planning to convert the winery and the house to vegetable oil."

"This has been a very smart and enjoyable investment for me. For the past 3 years I heated my previous smaller home with my own home brewed biodiesel. But, after the purchase of my next home, a large 1880's victorian, I knew that I would not be able to make enough fuel to suit my needs. This boiler was the answer, to be able to burn frying fat, as is, would allow me to tap into a bottomless source of heat for my home, without the large cost that would come with heating this big old house conventionally. I actually look forward to cold weather this year!"

CHET'S CAR CARE CENTER
Chet's Car Care Center
"We have saved lots of money by using the INOV8 furnaces," said Chet Hermansen, owner and operator of Chet's Car Care Center and Pitstop Lube-N-Wash in Madison, Wisconsin.

"Two boilers heat the car wash water, and the building with in-floor radiant heating," he said. "With a little maintenance, we heat our 70 x 150 foot building and keep our shops at a comfortable 70 degree temperature by using the free fuel from the oil changes."

Chet initially purchased their first INOV8 furnace in 1990 and since then has been exclusively using INOV8 equipment.

Chets Car Care Center is a family owned business. Chet says, " he is proud to be a part of the INOV8 family, as they have always taken good care of us and keep us warm!"

Scientific Recycling, Inc.
Mike A. Niles, owner of Scientific Recycling in Holmen, Wisconsin, has three INOV8 furnaces. "Since I collect and recycle waste oil, " he said, "I may as well use and reuse it . . . it's my main source of heat! "

He purchased his first F200 furnace in 1991 to heat his 2400 sq.ft. shop in Holmen. Since then, he has purchased two additional F200 furnaces for a shop in Davenport, Iowa.

Mike indicated that since using the INOV8 waste oil burning equipment that he has been able to save between $2 and $3 thousand dollars each year. "In my business, " he said, "I need to be conscious about the environment as well as be able to save money on heating bills. "

LA CROSSE CITY BREWERY
La Crosse City Brewery
We purchased a new 220,000 BTU INOV8 Waste Oil Burner in the fall of 1993. The unit was complete with a 300-gallon waste oil holding tank with legs, a frame to support the unit eight feet above the tank. The unit itself came pre-wired with all controls and safeties. Installation was easy involving a vent for the oil tank, routing chimney to local codes and 110 volt to power supply.

The unit was installed in a new equipment building that had no other source of heat. This building is used to store bobcats, pickup trucks, plows, mark lifts, a portable welder, etc.

The furnace has now been operating totally trouble free, twenty-four (24) hours a day. Only routine maintenance oil filter, etc. has been required. The types of fuel used are all types of grade of engine drain oil, gear case oils, hydraulic oil and assorted lubricants.
